Fine Looking Residence Of What I Suppose Is A Prominent Member Of Society In This Small Town. The Following Was Added By Clay Stubbins, Grandson Of Clayton Ashley Stubbins And Is Used With His Permission: This Is The Home Of My Grandfather, Clayton Ashley Stubbins, Who Was The Leading Citizen Of Granville North Dakota. He Was Born In 1873, Participated In The Founding Of Granville In 1899, And Lived There Until He Died In 1942. He Was Owner Of The Stubbins Land & Loan Company, Which Was A Prominent North Dakota Business Until It Failed During The Great Depression. He Is Buried In The Granville Cemetery. My Father Was Born In 1907 And Grew Up In That House. You May Be Interested In That The Card Is Signed By "Ida". That "Ida" May Be Ida Mitchell Stubbins, The Wife Of Eugene W Stubbins. Eugene W Stubbins Was The Brother Of Clayton Ashley Stubbins. Eugene Was The Founder Of Norwich ND. The House, As Far As I Know, Is Still Standing, But It Has Fallen Into Disrepair. I Was In Granville About 1998 Or 1999 And Viewed The House. It Had Been Purchased By A Couple And Moved To A Temporary Site About A Mile Or So South Of Town. The Couple Was Reportedly Going To Restore The House But I Don't Know If They Ever Did. Used From Granville On October 3 1907 With A Nice Hand Cancel. Item:ds01041 Control 00002225
